Welcome to Del Mar Dog Beach – your ultimate playground for pups and their people! Tucked away at 3200 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014 , this slice of sandy paradise (also known as North Beach, stretching from 29th Street to the Solana Beach border) is where local insiders bring their four-legged best friends for a day of sun, surf, and a whole lot of tail-wagging fun.
When it comes to parking, we keep it simple and savvy. The best spots are along Camino Del Mar – just park and play! Expect to pay $4 per hour or $20 per day via the handy parking machine (don’t forget to flash that receipt on your dashboard, or the local enforcement will be less than impressed). During the busy summer buzz, we recommend arriving early or scouting out spots on both sides of the overpass spanning the San Dieguito River. If that plan falls through, backup parking is waiting on Via De La Valle . A couple of extra U-turns or a short stroll is totally worth the hassle!
Here’s the lowdown:
While Dog Beach keeps its amenities minimal, the essentials are right on deck. You'll find portable toilets at the north entrance for your convenience, and a water fountain nearby to keep both you and your pup hydrated. Heads up: there isn’t a dedicated dog rinsing station here, so if your pooch needs a quick wash, swing by Dirty Dogs in Solana Beach afterward.
After all that frolicking in the surf, you and your pup will likely be ready for a snack break. Del Mar boasts a range of dog-friendly cafes where sandy paws are always welcome. Check out our Guide to Del Mar Dog Friendly Eateries for the top spots to refuel and relax after your beach day adventure.
So pack your SPF and get ready for an unforgettable day at one of San Diego’s most beloved dog destinations. Enjoy the beach, and let the good times roll!
